Atmospheric Fairy Pools Skye
This Atmospheric Fairy Pools Skye download captures the pools in their most mysterious mood. Heavy mist has consumed the Black Cuillin completely. The mountains have disappeared into cloud. Only their dark silhouettes remain. Water cascades silently over the black basalt shelf below.
I took this on a heavily overcast day on Skye. The mist was low and thick. The Cuillins had vanished entirely into the cloud above. The air was still and quiet. I used a long exposure to smooth the water completely. The result is almost abstract. It feels more like a painting than a photograph. This version of the Fairy Pools is raw and elemental. It shows Skye as it truly is for much of the year.
This Atmospheric Fairy Pools Skye download suits a calm, minimal interior. The cool greys and silky whites create a meditative quality. It works beautifully as a large format print. It is a striking alternative to the brighter, more colourful versions of this location. Those who love moody, atmospheric photography will be drawn to this image immediately.
