Cottage on Loch Achtriochtan
This Loch Achtriochtan digital download captures the snow-capped peaks of Glencoe rising above the still waters of the loch. A small white cottage sits on the far shore, dwarfed by the rugged mountains and drifting clouds behind it.
I photographed this on a winter’s day in Glencoe, using a long exposure to draw out the movement in the sky above the ridge. The clouds streaked slowly overhead while the loch stayed almost perfectly calm below. Watching that contrast build through the camera, between the stillness of the water and the motion in the sky, made this one worth waiting for.
This Loch Achtriochtan digital download is perfect for anyone who loves Scotland or has visited Glencoe. It also suits anyone who wants a dramatic, atmospheric piece of Highland photography on their wall. It prints beautifully at any size from A4 through to A1, and looks exceptional in both modern and traditional interiors.
