Glencoe in Autumn Colours
This Glencoe Autumn Colours digital download captures the glen in perfect symmetry, golden and rust-toned hillsides mirrored flawlessly in still water beneath snow-capped peaks. Even the clouds overhead are caught in the reflection, doubling the scene from top to bottom.
I photographed this on a calm autumn day in Glencoe, waiting for the water to settle completely still. The valley opened up ahead of me with barely a ripple on the surface, the reds and golds of the hillside glowing against the fresh snow on the peaks. Moments of stillness like that don’t come around often in a glen this exposed to the wind.
