The Fairy Pools Skye
This Fairy Pools Skye download shows the dramatic Black Cuillin up close. The ancient rock face towers above the pools. Low cloud clings to the peaks above. A wide waterfall cascades silently into the still pool below.
I took this on an overcast day on Skye. The cloud was low over the Cuillins. The air was completely still. I positioned low to the water’s edge. This gave the waterfall maximum impact in the frame. The Black Cuillin face fills the background. It shows the true scale of these mountains. This angle is rarely seen in Fairy Pools photography. Most images focus on the pools themselves. This one shows the mountains that surround them.
This Fairy Pools Skye download has a bold, dramatic quality. The dark rock, soft water and moody cloud create strong contrast. works beautifully as a large format print. It suits a contemporary interior perfectly. It is a powerful alternative to the more traditional Fairy Pools images.
